About Us

Our Mission

Our mission is to find our place in God’s story, grow into our unique calling, and share the good news of Jesus in our normal rhythms of life.

This mission begins by creating space to be with Jesus. For us, this space is our fellowship gatherings, which are oriented around worship, prayer, and scriptural teaching. We believe being with Jesus and His followers in fellowship will lead to the cultivation of a humbly submitted heart and a biblically formed worldview that helps us to grow to be like Him.

We believe faith is best shared on mission at a local level. Just as God sent Jesus into the world, we are called to serve our places of work, rest, and recreation by creating a space for honesty, love, and transformation in the normal rhythms of life: at work, at school, at home, and at play.

If you are interested in learning more about our beliefs and values as a USMB community you can do so by visiting our denomination’s website here.

Our Story

In 2015 a sermon titled “The Answer to How is Yes,” gave our small, young, and mostly Slavic-American core group the courage to branch out, sharing the gospel with Spokane in public worship nights. From there, the Holy Spirit provided an opportunity to create a worshiping community at the Bartlett, a local concert venue. When we had grown to the point we needed to split services or move, we chose to keep the family together and once again relocated to the beautiful and historic Bing Crosby Theater in downtown Spokane. Despite the changes in venue, the Spirit has never stopped moving and the call to find, grow, and share the love of God in our normal rhythms of life has only intensified.

Our Name

Why do we use the name of Pacific Keep? In our home, the awe-inspiring Inland Northwest, the weather can be challenging, but we live and thrive knowing that God is our refuge or “keep” (Psalm 91) in every storm. We seek to create a warm, inviting community that offers a chance for everyone to find their place in God’s story regardless of the storms or challenges of life.

Our Staff

Boris Borisov, Lead Pastor:  Boris immigrated to the U.S. in the early 90’s and grew up in a multi-ethnic church environment.  He spent many years in bi-vocational ministry as a youth leader.  Before taking a full-time position leading Pacific Keep Church, Boris spent 10 years working as an Urban Planner on neighborhood revitalization projects in Spokane, WA including South Perry, East Sprague, and most recently the N. Monroe Corridor. Boris studied theology at Whitworth University and strongly believes the church needs to be woven into the fabric of the community through active listening, engagement, and service. Boris enjoys cooking, playing piano, and the occasional video game. Boris’ greatest joy is being a husband to his wife Julia, and a father to his daughters Grace and Evelyn.

Jack Dunbar, Associate Pastor: Jack was born and raised in the Inland Northwest in Medical Lake, WA. He attended Whitworth University where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master’s degree in Theology. He is an avid learner, reader, snow skier, wakeboarder, board gamer, and according to him he “has never been bored.” He has worked as a janitor, biology professor, sales professional, landscaper, and sandwich maker, but his true love has been and always will be serving the church. Jack believes that his role as a pastor is best modeled by John the Baptist who always points others to Jesus and never to himself. He seeks to live “the Jesus way” and help others to do the same in their normal lives which in Jesus’s eyes are anything but ordinary. His greatest joy is loving his wife Lindsey.

Our Kids

We believe Jesus’s ministry was for kids and so is ours.

At Pacific Keep kids are a part of every service! Each week our kids join us for worship. After worship one of our pastors leads our children through a story from the Bible. After Story Time, our kids depart to their own lesson with dedicated teachers who seek to disciple our kids while the adults and kids over the age of 8 are taught by our pastors in their weekly sermons.
